As Competence Center Manager is responsible building competences in Advanced Data Analytics area. His team consists of Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, DevOps, MLOps and Cloud Experts involved in building AI systems, data platforms, data warehouses and BI solutions and supporting companies in cloud adoption.

Kornel Skałkowski

Senior Data Scientist, GetInData

Kornel Skałkowski graduted Computer Science at AGH University of Science and Technology in 2010, in 2015 he was promoted to PhD at the same university, the thesis was related to applied machine learning. In the course of his career Kornel Skałkowski worked for companies such as SAP SE, IG or Novomatic. The projects he participated in, included areas such as consumer behavior forecasting, games of chance results prediction or Apache Spark framework adaptation. Currently, Kornel Skałkowski works for GetInData as a Senior Data Scientist, where he takes part in projects involving natural language processing. In his free time, he likes hiking, cycling and reading books.

Mariusz Koprowski

Mariusz works as a Big Data Group Director in Adform, advertising technology company. Over the years he had the pleasure to design and develop software for many different clients. Also, he has an opportunity to manage mid size teams of specialists in various areas (software development, IT Support, Business Intelligence and R&D). Currently his career path is focused on team and people management with addition of Enterprise IT Architecture (with specialization in business intelligence and data architecture). Michael Gregory

Michael is the tech lead for the machine learning team in the Field CTO office, where he helps organizations leverage the power of Snowflake to build mature, enterprise-grade data science and machine learning capabilities. Prior to joining Snowflake, Michael held leadership positions in AI and ML go-to-market at Amazon Web Services and Cloudera, and has deep experience in bringing ML products to market and building high-powered technical sales teams. Michael leverages more than 20 years experience (including Sun Microsystems, Oracle, and Teradata) in designing, building, selling, and architecting data and analytics solutions to help organizations leverage the power of data to build communities. Originally from Denver, Colorado in the United States, Michael also has extensive international experience, having lived and worked across Europe for much of the last 17 years. Michael's academic background started in technology (computer science, mathematics, and physics) and includes an MBA degree focused on transformation and leadership of tech companies.

Ewa Gruszka

She helps the largest enterprises in their digital transformation to the Google cloud through the adoption of solutions in the areas of Data, Analytics and Machine Learning.
Previously, for many years associated with the Telecommunications sector, where she was involved in extensive customer analytics, as well as building and implementing models used for predicting user behavior. Then, together with IBM Polska supported companies from multiple industries in the use and monetization of knowledge hidden in data.

Understanding user behaviour and what brings value to the table is a prime goal that we constantly dominate at a lighting pace.
As a Data Science Leader my experience revolves around researching, building, deploying and extensively testing large scale machine learning and AI algorithms by leveraging Spark propelled by sound knowledge of data engineering applications and use cases.
Additionally, providing mentorship and building blueprints to achieve various product goals across the company by leveraging scientific & data-informed approaches.
Other areas of my work include NLP, image processing, distributed graph social networks, large scale data pipelines, user segmentation and behavioural applications & advertisement performance.

Canadian born, Swedish living, Andrew is a Systems Architect, specializing in building data platforms and designing analytical data systems at Kambi. With 15+ years of working with data in various aspects, using a mix of technologies from on-prem to cloud, he brings a wide array of knowledge and deep understanding of technology, and the ways businesses can be enabled, empowered, and can create value from their data and technology. When not designing systems, he enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife, daughter, and dog.

Joanna Misztal-Radecka

As a data scientist at Ringier Axel Springer Polska since 2015, she has been involved in many projects concerning real-world machine learning applications, including the large-scale news recommendation systems for news services. She has shared her experience during talks and presentations on multiple tech events. She graduated from the industrial doctorate program at AGH where she taught courses related to ML for computer science students.

Łukasz Sztachański

Cloud Lead, Mindbox

Łukasz has been working with the public Cloud and Data Center since 2007 as an engineer and architect. During his professional career, he has worked for a hosting company and managed a large environment by designing distributed systems in private and public clouds and developing and optimizing Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift container platforms. In addition, Łukasz participated in large digital transformation projects, from monolithic applications and static processes to automatically managed and redundant microservices. Due to his experience working in large environments (1k + servers), he is a fan of full automation, infrastructure in code, and automatic management of application logic.

Jakob Gottlieb Svendsen, Cloud and Datacenter Management MVP, recently joined Saxo Bank as Chief Cloud engineer and Technical product owner for Cloud Foundation (Cloud Center of Excellence). In charge of the tecnical side of management of our cloud(s). Currently Saxo Bank hosts their services on Microsoft Azure. As a former principal consultant and lead developer @ CTGlobal/Coretech for over 13 year, he has worked with a wide range of area related to management of IT, and later management of cloud. This included infrastructure as code, cost management/FinOps and much more. Jakob was one of the authors of Microsoft Hybrid Cloud Unleashed (2017) and a contributing author to System Center 2012 Service Manager Unleashed (2014). Previously, she was the CEO of Concord Systems (concord.io), a NYC-based data infrastructure startup acquired by Akamai Technologies in 2016. She led building Akamai’s new IoT data platform for real-time messaging, log processing, and edge computing. Prior to Concord, Shinji was the first Product Manager hired at Yieldmo, where she led the Ad Format Lab, A/B testing, and yield optimization. Sonal is the founder of Zingg(www.zingg.ai), building an ML-powered entity resolution framework for a single source of truth of customers and suppliers. Zingg is open sourced at https://github.com/zinggAI/zingg. Sonal has 23 years of experience building data products for investment banking, telecom, gaming, insurance and other industries. She is a repeat speaker at conferences like Spark Summit, Strata, Data Con LA and GIDS. She holds a BTech from IIT Delhi and lives in India.

Jan Kosmala

Engineering Manager for the Data team, OLX Group

He has been working there since 2014 and during that time he was a key engineer in various technological migrations. The latest migration was from Azure Analysis Services to Apache Kylin - he and his team were primarily responsible for migrating data between the two systems and enabling internal clients to work.

Arnab Dutta

Arnab is a staff data scientist in the Search team at eBay. He focuses primarily on leveraging state of the art Machine Learning techniques towards natural language understanding. He has also worked extensively on knowledge graphs, intent understanding, context extraction to improve the search engine that powers eBay’s marketplace. He has extensive enterprise experience in model building, NoSQL databases, information extraction, recommender systems, probabilistic models and analytics. Arnab has publications in ESWC, ISWC, WWW and more. Arnab received his PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Mannheim in 2015.

Stephen Brobst

Chief Technology Officer, Teradata Corporation

Stephen Brobst is the Chief Technology Officer for Teradata Corporation and is widely regarded as a leading expert in data warehousing. Stephen performed his graduate work in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where his Masters and PhD research focused on high-performance parallel processing. He also completed an MBA with joint course and thesis work at the Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management. Stephen is a TDWI Fellow and has been on the faculty of The Data Warehousing Institute since 1996. He has been ranked the number four CTO in the USA and has authored numerous journal and conference papers.

Sjoerd van den Heuvel Ph.D. is associate professor Data Driven Business & People Analytics at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht in the Netherlands. He is an international authority and a frequently asked speaker at business conferences and in-company trainings across the globe. Recent international engagements included keynotes en masterclasses in Singapore, Dubai, Budapest, Sydney, Barcelona, Mannheim, London, Brussels, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Geneva, Anaheim, Warsaw, and Paramaribo. Sjoerd cofounded the very first Master of Science program ‘Data Driven Business’ in the Netherlands; a formally accredited, and by the Dutch Government funded, multi-disciplinary 1-year university program in which students master the role of Analytics Translator: the must have role for data driven organizations (source: McKinsey, 2018). Sjoerd teaches Data Driven Decision Making and People Analytics to professionals, undergraduate- and graduate students. His research focusses primarily on individual competencies and organizational capabilities required for successful Data Driven Business & People Analytics. Sjoerd holds a Ph.D. degree in Human Resource Management from Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and prior to his current position, he worked as a senior management consultant (Capgemini Consulting), senior Engagement & Retention advisor (Dutch Postal Service) and assistant professor in HRM (University of Amsterdam and Twente University). In both his teaching and research activities, his core focus is on how to bridge the gap between science and practice, because that’s where the People Analytics magic happens!
