Arif Wider is a professor of software engineering at HTW Berlin and a technology consultant with Thoughtworks. Before moving back to academia, he served as Head of Data & AI at Thoughtworks Germany. As a vital part of his research, teaching, and consulting, he is passionate about distilling and distributing great ideas that emerge in the software engineering community. He frequently speaks and writes about technology but enjoys nothing more than bringing together people with diverse backgrounds.

Tomek Mierzwa has over 20 years of experience with building data products, mostly in the fintech area. He is strongly business and strategy oriented but also retains the practical data engineering skills. Recently he founded Token Flow Insight, the startup focused on delivery of contextualised and semantically enriched data, mostly in the blockchain space. The company has just raised $12m in Series A funding to expand its data platform.

Pierre was awarded a PhD in Computer Science from Newcastle University in 2009 for research work on distributed systems security governance done at British Telecom. Following that, Pierre has worked in top tier banks mostly on compute heavy solutions for valuation and risk management. In the past years, Pierre has progressively focused more time on data and analytics. In 2022 Pierre has joined the PepsiCo eCommerce team to support its continuous growth in the field of data engineering.
